SHAKESPEARE LIVES IRAQ

Shakespeare Lives is an unprecedented global programme of events and activities celebrating the work of playwright, poet and actor William Shakespeare, marking the 400th anniversary of his death in 2016.

A British Council initiative, Shakespeare Lives is taking place in almost every country around the world, from Spain to Taiwan, New Zealand to Malaysia and from Poland to Mexico.
Gatherton Arts is working in partnership with the British Council to bring this amazing and unique cultural programme to Iraq.
Shakespeare is a universal source of inspiration. His work can be reimagined, reinterpreted and retold across many diverse cultures.
Shakespeare Lives Iraq presents Shakespeare in many forms, from theatre to music, film and debate, whilst also using his work as a mirror to explore the traditions and heritage of Iraq.
